I have reinstalled windows and reset the array so both drive 0 and drive 1 read fine in green and I can do what I want on it for sometimes hours Raid Error On Boot Up I should be able to format and re-install the OS this way and have a fresh install? This one will have RAID 1 though. If this is chipset raid for AMD you'll want to install AMD's RaidXpert and for Intel its RST (rapid storage technology) And as always, your important data should always have backup

I backed everything up and I'll clone the dying drive to an identical replacement. It 'might' be that one of the drives has developed a SMART error. That can easily be fixed by running chkdsk, which is the first thing you should have done.Click to expand... Is that so much to ask?!
