Followed your suggestion (except could not find item in step #6) but no luck. Error message opening it with quicktime. In fact other .mov files that are imported into the same project show up just fine. I hope the issue will be solved. Try to convert it for you to play it with QuickTime. Because iTunes and Quicktime are intertwined, I'm guessing that the base problem is with quicktime. Then double click on your MOVIE file which is not working properly to close windows.
